Whether you make a Will or not, all estates over £5,000 have to go through probate to ensure the estate passes to the right people and any Tax due is identified and collected.  We have found through experience most non-professional  Executors do not know how to deal with probate after our clients have passed away and often ask us, a Solicitor or their Bank for help. The costs involved in dealing with probate will depend on who does the work.  Typically a solicitor would charge £1,500 - £5,000 for dealing with a simple estate or £5,000 - £25,000 if you asked your Bank.

If required, we can complete all applications, write all necessary letters, arrange to settle all debts, and prepare a full set of probate accounts for the Executors at a much reduced rate.

The Will you eventually leave is often very different from the one you write today.   Experience has shown that people would like to change their Wills as often as 7 -10 times during their lifetime.

You may wish to change your executors, guardians and beneficiaries.   As you get older you may wish to include gifts to lifelong friends or charities that have shown kindness or assistance.

Because most solicitors and banks charge you every time you wish to change your will, it is often left in its original state and final wishes are often unknown and not carried out.  All clients who subscribe are entitled to change their Wills as often as they wish without incurring a charge, helping to ensure our clients leave a Will which is up to date and reflects their wishes.

It is imperative your documents and deeds are kept in a safe place away from your home.   If your deeds were lost not only would it cost up to £500 to replace them but it would cause a delay if you were selling your property.   This could result in your buyer pulling out.
