YOU ARE MARRIED WITH NO CHILDREN

  • All your personal chattels and the first £200,000 of your estate goes to your surviving spouse.
  • The remainder of your estate is then divided into two equal shares.
  • A,   Your spouse is given one share absolutely.
  • B, The other share is given to your parents or if no parents your brothers and sisters (or nieces and nephews).
  • If there are no surviving relatives then the whole of the residue passes to your surviving spouse.

    However
  • When you and your spouse dies FORTY per cent Tax on everything over £285,000 may have to be paid.
  • Your spouse will probably leave your collective estates to his/her family and your family may never inherit from you.
  • Friends, Charities and pets cannot benefit.
  • Funeral wishes may never be known.
